Conclusion

My research interest is in Action Research.
Creating a living educational theory will bring  change and understanding. This change is action and the understanding is the research component. Together these two elements form a complementary dualism for my living educational theory.

Introduction
Action Research, Living educational theory, Life as a Living Contradiction.

Start with Values

Action Research is a professional development approach that brings about change and understanding while researching on my own learning.

As a starting point to Action Research I choose values or standards of judgments to embark on a journey of cycles and recycles. Perhaps what drives my life are values I uphold personally and at work which gives me a clear purpose for my existence and a reason for living. Jean McNiff states that:

“Action Research begins with values. As a reflective practitioner you need to be aware of what drives your life and work, so you can be clear about what you are doing and why you are doing it. You might need to spend time clarifying for yourself the kinds of values and commitments you hold. This would be a firm starting point for your action enquiry.”

I value developing a living educational theory (portfolio) for professional development, personal growth and especially as a holistic goal to develop myself as whole person.
