Overview

 

This is an introductory writing course for sophomore students. The course introduces different styles of writing for both the academic and professional circle.

 

Aims

 

The aim is to give students a foundation in writing through starting from sentence structure and moving on to paragraph, essay and research paper.

Materials: A Handbook of Writing, Compiled by teachers
                  Supplementary materials
 
Assessment: Book Report and Participation is 40 %. Final exam is
                        60%.
 
                       Final exam criteria: task response, cohesion,  
                       vocabulary and grammar
 
                       Book Report: Length, presentation, 3 parts of a book
                       report
 
                       Participation: being able to produce writing for every class
